Grasses for the Northern Plains – Cool Season
Nordan Crested
Perennial, cool season introduced bunchgrass. Very productive, but must be cut or grazed very early. Grows in clumps but mixes well with alfalfa and tolerates heavy grazing. Will grow in a wide range of soils but prefers well-drained medium textured soils. Performs well on as little as 9 inches of rain, but does not tolerate salinity or flooding.
Recommended seeding rate of 6 to 7 pounds per acre. 1/4 inch seeding depth.
