Annual warm season drought tolerant grass that reduces erosion and soil compaction, increases organic matter, redistributes nutrients, suppresses weeds. Makes good hay, attracts beneficial insects, fair mycorrhizal fungi association, frost tolerant for late grazing. A high user of nitrogen so it can be helpful to use some fertilizer, but creates some danger of nitrate poisoning in drier years.
Recommended seeding rate of 20 pounds per acre. 1/4 to 3/4 inch seeding depth.
