Falcata Alfalfa

Yellow blossom falcata alfalfa is an aggressive, highly productive variety of tap rooted alfalfa with Siberian origins, well-suited for dryland grazing. It is known to be more winter and drought tolerant than other tap rooted alfalfas, due to the development of a rhizomatous trait. It has also proven to be more salt tolerant and significantly more productive than other alfalfas. Although not officially trialed, bloat has never been observed or reported on yellow alfalfa. The only drawback to the variety is the fact that is has a higher percentage of hard seed, causing stands to establish somewhat more slowly than other alfalfas. This variety will tolerate PH level as high as 8.5. Harvest when it reaches 10% bloom.

Recommended seeding rate of 5 to 8 pounds per acre. 3/8 inch seeding depth.
