Forage Sorghum

Annual warm season drought tolerant grass, production comparable to silage corn with 85% of the feed value. Does not dry for baling, so must be chopped for feed. Best to harvest at the medium dough stage when total plant moisture is 65 to 70%. Digestability is improved if allowed to fully mature before chopping.

Recommended seeding rate of 5 pounds per acre. Seed 4-5 lbs per acre in 15 inch rows at a depth of 1/2 to 1 and a half inches.
