2015 Cool and Warm Season Forage Field Trials NDSU Carrington
Sorghum-Sudan
Annual warm season drought-tolerant grass, hybrid cross between forage sorghum and sudan grass. Very erosion control capability, good productivity and feed quality, with regrowth after first cutting, but can be hard to dry down, so works best if chopped. Can produce prussic acid, so a full 7-14 day dry down after first frost is recommended.
Recommended seeding rate of 20 pounds per acre. 1/2 to 1 and 1/2 inch seeding depth.
