Creeping Rooted Alfalfa
Grazing alfalfa, non-certified, comparable to Travois or Rangelander. Tolerates traffic and poor soil conditions very well. Less productive than other alfalfas, except when in poor soil conditions. Has a lateral spreading root system. This allows the plant to tolerate grazing and trampling better than a tap-root system. Bloom can be blue, green or other colors, creeps along the ground so can be a little harder to harvest. Should be harvested when it reaches 10% bloom.
Recommended seeding rate 8 to 10 pounds per acre. 3/8 inch seeding depth.
