White Proso Millet is a great food plot crop for game birds and may be flooded to attract ducks. White Proso shatters abundant amounts of seed that appeals to many varieties of birds.
Breaker Radish produce a great amount of forage. The roots are big and will provide large amounts of nutrition during the winter months. The uneaten root will deteriorate and improve soil health.
Milo is great for attracting deer in fall while providing the benefit of bedding areas and cover. It also provides the added benefit of attracting other wildlife such as geese, quail and doves.
Purple Top Turnips stay extremely digestible to deer throughout the growing season. They are a great fall & winter feed, as the leaves are bitter when young and deer tend to pass them while they are growing.
Dwarf Essex Rapeseed, or Canola, is a major wildlife attractant. After freezing the starch in the plant turns to sugar making the plant irresistible to wildlife. High oil and protein make for very healthy wildlife.
Soybeans are one of the most preferred summer forage for white-tailed deer. They are extremely nutritious, containing upwards of 25 to 30 percent crude protein in fields with good soil fertility.
Peas are highly nutritious and extremely digestible to wildlife. They carry a protein level between 20 and 30 percent. Both the seed, stem and leaves are browsed by deer.
Sunflower is sought after by both deer and birds. The seed is flavorful and high in protein. Sunflowers also provide great cover for wildlife to take cover in and for vining plants to climb.
Common Vetch supplies an abundant amount of palatable forage for deer, turkey, and other wildlife in the late spring and early summer. The seed crop is very attractive towards birds.
Forage Kale is loaded with vitamins A, C, and B group. The Kale leaves can provide up to 25% protein. It also has the highest cold tolerance of the Brassicas.
Collards have a good tolerance to overgrazing and have fast regrowth. Leaves may wilt or burn around the edges but vegetation will remain green and viable throughout the winter.
Crimson Clover is highly attractive to wildlife. It germinates well, is nutritious and extremely digestible.
